The environmental management system of the logistics division of Bolloré Transport & Logistics, a subsidiary of the French group Bolloré, is being extended to all its sites. Bolloré Logistics, which covers 420 sites worldwide, including 136 in Africa, has obtained the extension of its environmental certification (ISO 14 001 version 2015). Issued by Bureau Veritas, a company specialized in testing, inspection and certification; this extension will enable the company to harmonize its environmental management system for greater agility and performance.
The African subsidiary of Bolloré Logistics has obtained the extension of the multi-site certification, which includes three categories of standards, including the ISO 14 001 version 2015, dedicated to environmental protection in the workplace. With this extension of the multi-site certification, Bolloré Africa Logistics will extend its environmental management system to its 136 sites in 47 African countries. “We are one of the forerunners of this certification, which is a decisive step in our quest for operational excellence and which will enable us to guarantee our customers a homogeneous treatment of their flows throughout our network with an identical level of service quality,” says Christian Teillet, Bolloré Logistics’ Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Director.
The latest version of the ISO 14001 standard enables an organization, regardless of its size, to achieve the expected results of its environmental management system, which constitute an added value for the environment, for the organization itself and for the interested parties. Consistent with the organization’s environmental policy, the expected outcomes of an environmental management system include improved environmental performance, compliance with compliance obligations, and achievement of environmental objectives (biodiversity protection, carbon neutrality and others).
A Bureau Veritas certification
Issued by Bureau Veritas, a company specializing in testing, inspection and certification, the certification extension obtained by Bolloré Logistics also covers standards related to occupational safety (ISO 45001 vs. 2018) and quality management (ISO 9001 vs. 2015). It extends across a global network of 420 sites, also located in Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Americas, the Middle East, and South Asia.
