The global water and sanitation community will meet in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, from 21 to 26 March 2022, for the ninth edition of the "World Water Forum". The event is organised under the theme: "water security for peace and sustainable development".
In March 20212 participants from all walks of life, political and economic decision-makers, multilateral institutions, universities, civil society and the private sector will gather in Dakar, Senegal, for the 9th World Water Forum.
Building on previous World Water Forums, the 9th edition will seek, through an innovative framework, to identify, promote and implement concrete responses and actions for water and sanitation in an integrated manner. It will be the first time that the World Water Forum, the largest international water-related event, will be held in sub-Saharan Africa.
This forum will also serve as a platform for expression for other stakeholders (women’s groups, young people, farmers, stockbreeders and fishermen) and will thus participate in the qualitative transformation of people’s daily lives and the advancement of the performance of production sectors.
