Beeah’s ability to mobilize financing in the waste and sustainable development sectors has just received international acclaim. Specializing in the implementation of sustainability projects, including waste management, the Emirati group was named winner in two categories at the 11th International Finance Awards, held on January 18, 2024 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai. The categories were “Best Finance Department – Environmental Services”, and “Best Finance Director – Waste Management and Sustainable Development Category”, both headed by Zouheir Sabra.

“This recognition celebrates the integral contributions of Zouheir Sabra and his team to the growth of Beeah’s investment portfolio, highlighting the finance team’s unwavering dedication to excellence and its significant impact in the finance and sustainability sectors,” says the Beeah Group, headed by Khaled Al Huraimel.

Indeed, Beeah Finance, or is a partner in several sustainable development projects around the world, notably in Africa. In Egypt, for example, the company, which employs 6,000 people, will support solid waste management in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), which will accommodate up to 6.5 million people spread over at least 21 residential areas. Beeah was chosen in 2020 following a call for tenders.

A mixed company will provide these integrated waste management services in the future smart city, under construction 45 km from Cairo, according to an agreement signed in December 2023 between Beeah and the Administrative Capital for Urban Development(ACUD). Overall, the Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based group is counting on this new collaboration with ACUD to achieve an 80% waste detour rate in the NAC. This will support one of the ambitious targets of the Egyptian government’s Vision 2030, which is to increase the recycling rate by 25%.

In addition to waste management, Beeah group also applies its financial leadership skills to the promotion of sustainable transport, renewable energies such as green hydrogen, for a global future resilient to climate change.
