RWANDA: Exim Bank of Hungary finances water and agriculture projects
Published on05/11/2021
Agro-ecology is the set of agricultural production methods that respect the environment. The aim of these ecological methods in agricultural production is the preservation of natural resources, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the production process and the limitation of the use of phytosanitary products, which are very often toxic to man, the land and the biodiversity surrounding agricultural plots.
In Africa, agro-ecology is taken into account in the habits, in a context of low development of industrial agriculture. Increasingly, countries are adopting less water-consuming irrigation policies, for example with drip irrigation. Very often, these irrigation systems are powered by solar energy.
