CAMEROON: South Korea finances drinking water supply in the Centre
Published on02/09/2022
Drinking water supply System (DWS) refers to the set of installations that enable the production and distribution of drinking water. In Africa, this type of installation is built by governments and private companies to supply drinking water to populations in localities that are not connected to national water networks. There are two types of water supply systems: pressure conveyance, which uses a system of pumps to create pressure in the network, and gravity conveyance, which makes use of the differences in altitude of the water, as in the case of water towers. In general, however, the DWS is a borehole equipped with a mechanised pumping system, itself connected to a storage tank and a water distribution network.
