In Central Africa, sanitation rhymes more with the fight against the damage caused by insanitary, notably through the construction of latrines to limit open defecation as is the case in Chad. This practice is at the origin of many diseases such as typhoid fever, cholera, hepatitis and poliomyelitis. Sanitation in Central Africa also includes the construction of drainage canals to prevent flooding and raising awareness among the population about waste sorting, collection and recycling. Sanitation in Central Africa also includes the management of wastewater and sewage sludge.
